Black Isle Horticultural Society - 2017 Sumer Show

Graham Sullivan, Secretary, Black Isle Horticultural Society, writes:

This year's Summer Show will be held on Saturday 12th August in our usual venue, the Gordon Memorial Hall, Rosemarkie, and the Show Schedule is attached. To encourage people who haven’t entered the show before, we’ve introduced a Novice section for new exhibitors, so if you know anyone in that category who might be interested, please let them know about it.

DOORS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT 2PM

Admission    Adults £1.00    Exhibitors  and children  Free

Exhibits must be presented to the hall between 6.30pm and 8pm on Friday evening or between 8.30am and 10.30am on Saturday.

The society’s label to be with each exhibit. 20p per exhibit. Exhibitors are encouraged to display the names of varieties.

CREAM TEAS AVAILABLE

Prize giving at 3 pm

Martin and Penny have an extensive flower garden, vegetable area, polytunnel and a forest garden.  Tours at 2.00, 3.00 and 4.00pm, but welcome anytime inbetween to wander.

An opportunity to see the developments at this community garden with small informal plots gardened by different people.  Welcome to wander and enjoy the garden, and chat to gardeners, Lesley, Sue and Helen.

Also open during July and August  by prior arrangement to anyone who'd like to come and visit

Maggie Dove's garden in Jemimaville
The garden is mature with trees, flowers, fruit trees and vegetables and follows permaculture principles.  Maggie also practices the 'no dig approach' to gardening.
